Review: Tum Mile

Even though the rushes were not that convincing but the music of Emraan hashmi starrer Tum Mile is already topping the charts. The movie was released on 13th of November. It can be a mere coincidence that two major movies (Tum Mile and 2012) made on disasters were released on Friday the 13th, which is considered as a token of Bad Luck.. The movie however was a treat for the eyes. I have always seen Emraan as a good actor with his skills being overshadowed by his image. This time around he proves that he can not be ignored as a mere Serial kisser and has a lot to admire. Tum Mile starts of as a normal story like every Bhatt movie does. The storyline however is new and unique. The Script is loose at times but the great music and the chemistry of Soha and Emraan leaves you thrilled. The Music really is the unique selling point of Tum Mile. Kunal Deshmukh has really matured as a filmmaker. This can serve as a milestone in his carrier. He has come a long way after Jannat. Pritam’s music has always been sensational and this time around he is even more magical. All in all the Tum Mile is a must watch if you are a youngster. It certainly adds one more feather in the hat of the Bhatts who are the experts as far as love stories in Indian film industry are concerned.

Indian Out of T20 WC

You can not have all the things all the times, Specially when they are Priceless. The Statement turned out apt for the defending champions of the World Cup T20 who were thrashed by England in a Do or Die game at the Oval. This was a must win game for India, who were earlier beaten by the West Indies in their first encounter of the Super Eights. The match started with packed crowds with both England and India charged up for the Big day. India who were fielding first bowled quite well in the initial overs and it was the IPL sensation RP Singh who got the first breakthrough by claiming Luke right in his very first over.
However, it was the partnership between KP and Bopara, that turned it around for England. The partnership collected some quick runs and England were looking like projecting around 180 on the board. However India came back strongly thanks to some good bowling by Jadeja. India were right on track as Harbhajan claimed back to back wickets in his last over. England got to 153, thanks to ten wides bowled by Bhajji, who still had 3 wickets for 30 runs.
England were hoping that they could have defended the small total against the champions who boast of a talented and a very strong batting line up. India started slowly and lost Rohit Sharma early. England screwed up Indian batsman with a consistent short pitch stuff. Soon after Rohit, Raina fell to another short pitch delivery from the fiery Sidebottom. Dhoni made a strange decision to send Jadeja up the order. Jadeja was not able to capitalise to the opportunity that was given to him, and played very slowly for his 27. This again turned out to be turning point for the match.
The wicket led to a downfall and it was left for Yusuf Pathan and MSD to steer India through. However it was all over in the 20th over and India could only manage 150 runs. The shocking exit of India has stunned Indian Supporters, who were hoping their team to do well after such a good performance in the last year or so. Meanwhile, MSD has taken the defeat as a joint responsibility of the team and has promised to come back with a bang in the next World Cup.

Shiney Lacklustured...

With a rusty American look and jovial face, Shiney Ahuja has always been one of my favourite actors. I have been a witness to his movies since the release of Hazaron Khwahishe Aisee, in which he delivered a performance that were capable enough to give shivers to even the top notches of Indian Film Industry. Later on in his carrier, movies like Gangster, Wo Lamhe and Zindagi Rocks further strengthened his position as an Actor with a difference. All of a sudden, this whole Rape Incident has really given the actor's Image a shatter. If he is found guilty of this, I think the act is not only shameful but will also turnout as a career devastating incident.
Although the actor has denied that he forced the maid for anything and has told the police officials that all of this happened with consent. Whatever turns out in the end, the bottom line is that the incident has certainly shaken the film industry and has done irreparable damage to the rising star's career.

Windows 7 Beta out, but can be risky warns Microsoft

The recently launched Beta version of Microsoft’s Windows 7 has become an instant hit among computer users. The operating system has received an overwhelming response as soon as its Beta version became available from Microsoft’s website. Microsoft has warned the users that installing the Windows 7 on your personal computers can be a cumbersome task and one can loose some files while doing it. The other reason that makes the operating system vulnerable is the large number of bugs in its beta version. The Beta version is only available for trial till August 2009 and the operating system will be on sale in early 2010.

Therefore users who are using the Beta version will have to find another alternative (XP or Vista) till the official for sale version of Windows 7 is available. Apart from this the beta version is also prone to security attacks and can invite malicious invasions. It has been said that a large number of pirated copies of Windows 7 are also available for download on the Internet. These pirated versions can be doubly dangerous for the users. The Beta version may also come up with unknown issues and therefore it has been advised by Microsoft that the Beta version should be used with extreme care and caution.

Luck By Chance: Lucky or Not?

The promos are out and LUCK BY CHANCE certainly looks promising by the look of it. After ROCK ON, expectations from Farhan Akthar are much bigger and a lot depends on his sister Zoya Akhtar's directorial venture. The story of LBC revolves around two prime protagonists – Vikram Jaisingh played by Farahan Akhtar and Sona Mishra played by Konkana Sen Sharma. Both are aspiring actors struggling to make their mark in the Tinseltown. They fall in love with each other and how their aspirations effect their relationships is all what LBC is all about. The other attraction behind these two great actors is the special appearance by Hritik Roshan, who is playing the superstar Zafar Khan (could have been adapted from SRK).

Apart from this Rishi Kapoor is playing the character of Romy Rolly, a leading producer from the industry while Juhi Chawla is playing his wife. As the film is based in Mumbai film industry, special appearances from the likes of Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Shabana Azmi, Javed Akhtar, Rani Mukerji, Shilpa Shetty, Karan Johar, Anurag Kashyap and Rajkumar Hirani are also expected in the movie. The music of the film is given by Shankar, Ahsaan & Loy, and is sounding extremely good. So will LUCK BY CHANCE turn out lucky for Farhan.....ummmm....lets keep our fingers crossed!!

Tata to go GSM by the end of 2009

Leading CDMA tele service provider of India, Tata teleservices is planning for a pan India launch of its GSM services by the end of this year. According to company's managing director Anil Saradana, the company has already geared up for the launch and is hoping to bring it to life late in 2009.

Reliance Communications have already stepped into the GSM sectors and they are providing this service in 1100 towns across India. The coverage area for RCom is set to increase further. It is worth mentioning that Department of Telecom had made a decision last year to allow the companies with unified access services to have permits for the mixed technologies. Last year, the regional CDMA services provider Shyam Telecom and HFCL, had also applied for permission to have GSM status. This shift in the market is largely because of high profit margins in the GSM market for the service providers. The CDMA service providers are also looking forward to capture those users who change there operators every month, by stepping into the GSM Market. The average revenues per minute per user, earned by the GSM providers like Vodafone and Airtel are much higher than the CDMA providers. This can be the other reason for such diversion in the telecom market.

Graeme Smith may skip ODIs against OZs

According to South African coach Micky Arthur, Graeme Smith may not be available for the one day series in Australia which will start on January 16th. The South African captain has been facing a prolonged elbow injury and can be rested in the ODI series. Graeme Smith has been a major contributer in the South African Test win over the OZs. In his absence the team will be headed by, spinner Johan Botha. South Africa has recently registered a two to nil invincible lead in the test series held down under. The South African may also be rested for the third and final test starting Saturday. Graeme Smith who has been facing the injury for a long time now was only half a fit when he played in the first two test matches and was feeling extreme pain in his elbow.

Although South Africa has already won the series, the departure of the left handed opening batsman may serve as a threat for South Africa' ambitions of becoming the number one test team. South Africa will replace Australia as the top test team if they are able to win the third and final test in Sydney. The break can serve as a perfect opportunity for Smith, to prepare for the upcoming home series against Australia, which will kick start in February.

'Dhobi Ghaat': Next in line for Aamir Khan – the producer?

Aamir 'the perfectionist' Khan is on cloud nine after the huge success of GHAJINI. The Film has registered the largest opening by any Indian Film ever. The great look, amazing script and mind blowing action sequences, the film had everything that is needed by a blockbuster. The music was a huge hit especially among youngsters. All in all, GHAJINI is all set to make new records in the coming days. The question that must be arising in most minds is what's next? Will Aamir go for a new haircut for his next? Will he produce any movies in the near future?

Well Aamir will be back in Raju Hirani's next, ' Three Idiots' , which is said to be a romantic comedy. Apart from this Aamir will also be producing three movies, all of them will have debutant directors. Tinseltown's sources also disclose that Aamir will also be a great helping hand and can also produce his wife's directorial debut, DHOBI GHAAT. The film will star Prateek Babbar along with three heroins. After JAANE TU YAA JAANE NAA, Prateek has certainly become a sensation for Aamir, who thinks the guy has great acting talent. We have to wait and watch if his production ventures can beat the successes of TAARE ZAMEEN PAR and JAANE TU...or not.

A 'bitter' new year's eve at The Gateway of India

Although not as popular as the Times Square in New York, the Gateway of India has been renowned as the new year's celebration point in India for the past so many years. The magnificent fireworks and the delightful crowd makes the new year's eve an evening to remember. The evening of 31st December 2009 was a bit different.

This can be considered as a disastrous 26/11 aftermath or the insecurity in the people after increasing tensions between India and its rival neighbor, the crowds seemed to be scattered and the charm of the evening went missing. The cops at the place were fully equipped to face any kind of mishap. The molestation incident that took place at the Gateway of India some time back could have been other reason for such tight security.

The scene at Juhu beach was no different. The vendors at the beach claimed that they had never seen such small crowds on new year's eve at the beach. For some time after 12 o clock, the place returned to its majestic best as the fire crackers and celebrations made everyone forget the tragedy for a while.
